About the BRC

​​​​​​​The BRC was formed in 1996 by a group of retailers in the UK, publishing their first set of standards in 1998. The BRC is recognized worldwide for its audits in food safety and has over 15,000 organizations currently in its program.
 
The BRC guidelines are a suite of four industry-leading Technical Standards aligned to the Global Food Safety Initiative that specify requirements for the production, packaging, storage and distribution of safe food and consumer products.
 
Audits by third party certification bodies reassure our customers of the capability and competence of National Beef®. What’s more, these guidelines lessen the administrative and financial burden on our customers by reducing the need to carry out their own audits.
