A Heritage Of Agriculture

As more people moved west, Iowa soon became the #1 cattle-producing state in the country. But when herds and ranchers continued to move further west for better grazing lands, the larger stockyard and processing facilities followed. This left Iowa farm-feeders without a place to send their cattle. Rising to meet the new local demand, several small processing facilities began emerging all over Iowa, giving those farmers a place to have their corn-fed cattle processed.

Exceptional Marbling. Extraordinary Flavor.

Located in the heart of that high-quality cattle country, the Iowa Premium facility has been in operation since 1971. Iowa Premium preserves the heritage and tradition of its agricultural community and is committed to supporting those local, small family farm-feeders. Iowa’s natural topsoil allows these farm-feeders to grow an abundance of nutrient-rich corn to feed their cattle for a longer period of time than in other parts of the country.

Due to their corn-fed diet, Iowa Premium’s black Angus cattle supply offers a product with high marbling and a bold, rich flavor. By hand-selecting cattle that exhibit superior characteristics, Iowa Premium produces the consistent quality beef that our Japanese customers demand.
