Company reaches significant safety milestone of one million hours without a lost time injury.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. [MAY 4, 2016] — National Beef Packing Company, LLC’s (National Beef) Hummels Wharf facility has successfully operated for more than one million hours without an employee lost time injury. The company has been tracking towards this milestone since June 2014. Additionally, the company is celebrating 15 years as a member of the Susquehanna Valley community. In Hummels Wharf, National Beef produces a steady supply of beef, ground beef and pork products for retailers throughout the region.
“Safety is the highest priority with our employees,” said Dave Davidson, General Manager of National Beef’s Hummels Wharf location. “One million hours without a lost time injury is a significant accomplishment, and it is only possible because of the diligent, dedicated work of our entire team.”
National Beef Hummels Wharf first opened its doors 15 years ago in May 2001. Today, the facility serves more than 600 retail stores across the Northeast. More than 300 employees work across two shifts five days a week to ensure a consistent supply of beef and pork are available to retail locations throughout the region.
“We are excited to reach both this safety and anniversary milestone,” said Drew Kuhns, Safety Manager at National Beef. “Tens of thousands of families throughout the region enjoy our beef, ground beef and pork products on a daily basis. We look forward to continuing our commitment to producing high-quality, consumer-ready products.”
To celebrate this safety accomplishment and anniversary, National Beef will hold employee events and awards presentations on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 and Monday, May 16, 2016.
